Individuals wishing to run in an SSC Peer Election can be added to the ballot through:

Below are nomination email templates and nomination forms that can be used to facilitate your nomination process.
The legislation mandates that SSC members be voted in by their peers (term limits specified in the site bylaws). Ex. Classroom teachers vote for classroom teachers. See the resources below for guidance on how to conduct your election.
Below are example ballots that can be used to facilitate your election process. Ballots should be kept in site records with SSC documentation.
Officers must be elected ANNUALLY, and alternates cannot hold officer positions. All Student Site Councils must have a Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, and additional positions, such as parliamentarian, are optional/as desired according to your site's bylaws.
Sites have the flexibility to change the fill-in-the-blank portions of the bylaws ONLY. Verbiage in the bylaws, such as "What constitutes a quorum," are mandated by the California Department of Education and cannot be changed by Site Councils.
ote: We recommend that SSCs be established ahead of the annual LCAP Parent and Student Advisory Committee elections. SSC and SELLS parent members will nominate and elect the PSAC members who will represent the schools in their electoral districts. If establishment before the elections is not possible, please ask continuing committee members to attend. (Link to a presentation explaining the role of PSAC and the elections process)
In this section, you will find all the mandated documents needed for submission (also embedded in the checklist) to the Strategic Resource Planning office in order to establish your School Site Council.
