We are students from Hillcrest Middle School in Oakland, California. Our names are Adam Sutro, Joe Netick, Cooper Shaeffer, and Jacob Glasgow. We all make it a goal to stay healthy and make sure that we are exercising, socializing and eating healthy everyday. We have also realized that a problem in our society is that people aren't exposed to these 3 primary ideas, affecting their health dramatically. We believe that instead of taking prescription drugs or going to the doctor to get help with our health problems, the answer is usually right in front of us. If we can take just 30 minutes of our day to socialize, exercise, and make healthy food choices (all the time) than we can easily solve our problems. Our goal for this website is to inform everybody about the problem so that together we can solve it.
The problem that our community and the world faces is that people are dying or suffering from diseases do to lack of exercise, healthy foods, and socialization. As evidence shows that eating healthy, exercising, and being social can lead to a happier and longer life without various diseases that are the biggest killers of humans.
The other part of the problem that I would like to share with you dates back all the way to the beginning of time. For as long as our records can remember, we have been trying to find cures to diseases and sicknesses that are killers of a great percent of the human population. The truth is, that many diseases can be prevented by just changing your diet, exercise patterns or just by being a little more social. I'm not saying that medicines aren't bad, but before getting drugged, you should find a way to fix the problem before it even happens. A small change can make a big difference.
Our essential question is, How can we help people live a long healthy life by informing them about their everyday diet choices, physical choices, and social life that will make them aware of their health judgment without scaring them into an unnecessary drastic change?
In this website, our goal is to inform everybody of the problem. We also provide ways that you can fix it. The solution that we suggest, is that everybody can make a small change in there everyday life. This can be adding one more vegetable portion to your meals, or working out for 30 minutes more in a day, or even socializing 1 more time every week. Together, we will conquer human health and live longer.
