Oh no, I lost a book! What do I do?
It happens! But the library receives no district funding for our collections, so every single book is precious. Please contact leigh.carroll@ousd.org to let me know if your student has lost a book so I can clear their record, and, if you have the means, make arrangements to replace it.
How can I donate a book to the library?
The collection priorities are library bound, newly published, high-interest titles. But, sometimes we do take donations of good condition hardbound books for the library, or trade paperbacks for bookdrives. Contact leigh.carroll@ousd.org if you have a book to donate! Or suggest a book for the library here.

Why are school libraries important?
Research consistantly demonstrates that access to books is a critical way to build literacy. School libraries provide high quality books for students to make independent, interest-led reading choices.
But beyond a room of books, a school librarian guides students toward appropriate reading material, curates a collection that reflects the interests and lived experiences of the school community and helps build a lifelong love of reading.
My child doesn't like to read. What do I do?

Are graphic novels really reading?
Yes! Our library policy is that students may only check out one graphic novel at a time. If you are interested in supporting your student with branching out from graphic novels, illustrated middle grade fiction can help bridge the gap to longer text.
