WHAT IS ADHD?
Researchers disagree over how Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is caused. However they do believe it is a hereditary condition and the problems from ADHD result from subtle differences in the fine tuning of the brain.
Symptoms of ADHD include:
impulsiveness
inattention
hyperactivity
in ability to focus for long periods of time
ADHD effect 5-7% of the population.
Students may often:
Make mistakes more easily
Not read information in depth as they glance over it quickly
Unable to sit still for any length of time
Process information quickly
Appear not to listen
Have difficulty in following instrcutions
Struggle with organisational skills
Avoid tasks they don't like doing and can be relucant to enage in set activities
Can be forgetful
May loose items very quickly
