Career Services at the Compass, 145 Campus Center (315-312-2255), works in collaboration with the teacher candidate, employing officials, and the College of Education, Health, and Human Services. Career Services connects candidates to employers through on- and off-campus recruitment, with the goal of helping candidates secure full-time positions. They additionally assist candidates in developing professional résumés and cover letters and fine-tuning interviewing skills to effectively compete at regional job fairs or in applying to job vacancies via Handshake and Regional OLAS sites.

Central New York Teacher Recruitment Day is an annual event in which school districts from across the country interview teacher candidates for anticipated teaching vacancies. The event is held each Spring semester, and preregistration is required for participation. Dates and details for registration and participation will be communicated to you via Career Services. Spring semester student teachers who have performed acceptably as per their supervisor and cooperating or mentor teacher are eligible to attend.
