4-year colleges are not for everybody. In fact, many of the jobs with the greatest projected growth don't require a bachelor's at all. Research shows that about 50% of STEM jobs are open to workers with less than a bachelor's degree. Additionally, more than 80% of manufacturers report that talent shortages will impact their ability to meet customer demands in coming years. Below you'll find some options for attaining an associate's degree or certificate in two years or less so you can start your career sooner!

The MiraCosta Technology Career Institute offers career training and certificate programs that you can complete in as little as 16 weeks. The TCI offers training in manufacturing, engineering, health and veterinary, and many more.
MiraCosta offers vocational certificates and/or associates degrees in close to 30 different subjects including healthcare, business, art & design, and many more. You can obtain these in as little as 6 months!
Palomar offers a broad range of certificate programs and associate degrees. Most notably they offer fire academy, police academy, dental assisting, and fashion & design.
Vista Adult School offers career training and certificate programs in business, medical, and (coming soon!) culinary arts.
The San Diego Job Corps is a tuition-free training and education program for income-eligible students age 16-24. Get hands-on training and earn industry-recognized credentials in sectors such as manufacturing, auto repair, hospitality, IT, and more!
