Welcome to the Tiger University Independent Book Study!
As educators, our own learning never stops - and our time is incredibly valuable. That is why this branch of our professional development program is built around two core values: autonomy and practical application.
In this independent book study program, you have the freedom to browse our professional library and select the books that speak directly to your unique classroom, your students, and your goals. Whether you are looking to master a new instructional strategy, explore leadership routines, or find fresh ways to support diverse learners, you choose the path.
How it Works:
1. Select & Read: Choose any book from our professional library that sparks your interest.
2. Reflect & Apply: Once you finish, you will complete an "adult book report" designed to take no more than an hour. You will give a quick, bulleted summary of the book's value and pair it with a real-world "Application Artifact" from your classroom or practice.
3. Connect & Inspire: Your completed book report will be published on the Tiger University website. By sharing your takeaways and classroom snapshots, you will help us build a vibrant, collaborative database of inspiration where teachers can learn from teachers.
4. Earn & Move: Once your submission earns a status of "Met" across the rubric, points will be credited directly to your account. Every 15 points you accumulate (up to a maximum of 45) can be redeemed for 1 graduate-level credit through Northwest Nazarene University—helping you move forward on your professional and salary goals!
