Catching light from the shadows

This is the journal of a Basque teacher’s job‑shadowing experience at a Swedish school through an Erasmus+ project. It gathers my reflections, interpretation of events, questions and doubts, as well as the conclusions I have drawn from the experience.

This is the daily journal of a one‑week job‑shadowing experience carried out in early December 2025 at a Swedish school, Skanör Falsterbo Montessoriskola, within a Erasmus+ KA122 project.

At first, the purpose of writing this journal was simply to keep a record of what I experienced there, so that, once back at my own school, I could present my experience in detail to my colleagues.

The working methods I observed, the teachers’ strong engagement, and the mutual understanding and trust among the different members of the school community were truly inspiring. Following our project coordinator’s suggestion, I decided to publish my reflections, hoping they might also be useful and inspiring for other teachers.
