The last day to check out books from the library will be Tuesday May 23 and ALL books are due back Wednesday May 24.  If you have any books checked out, please make sure to get them turned in ASAP.

Attention all 6th graders interested in Intramural Soccer: We will begin Intramural practices next Monday, May 15th. If you would like to join, please grab a sign up sheet from Mr. Eddingfield's classroom and turn it in at or before your first day joining. Let's have fun and play some soccer, Brady!

Power of the Pen, Our next meeting will be Tuesday, May 2. 

Brady boys tennis scored hard fought victories last Friday over Solon and yesterday vs Perry.  Leading the way for the Lions with 2 wins each were Zayd Adi and Daniel Lee.  Suchin Wyckoff, Michael Nemer and Rian Xiong also contributed wins with Michael’s and Rian’s clutch performances clinching the match wins for the Lions!  Also playing well for the Lions were Dashiell Miller-Rao, Max Levinson, Nico Lachina, Hayes Henkel, Jacob Binkowski, Jesse Vaytsman and Milo Hurwitz.  The Lions take the courts at Hawken today and Friday at home vs Geneva.

Your 7th and 8th grade Boys lacrosse team had back to back away games last Thursday and Friday. The team dropped a close one against University, 12-7. We will be seeing them again at the end of the season. However, on Friday, the team picked up a solid win against CVCA. The score was 11-4. George G. had four goals, Oliver G. had four goals and two assists, Charlie N. had one goal and four assists. Both Joey B. and Jake P. had one goal each. Our defense was led by Jordan C., Jake B., and Oliver M. Our goalie, Amit P. had an excellent game with nine saves! Come out tonight and support your team on the home field as we have a rematch with CVCA. Game time is at 4:30pm. Hope to see you there!

Congratulations Lady Lions pulling out a victory over Lakeside 62-56 The Lady Lions competed in every event. Special shout out to Zoe Ng, Kate Ahearn , Sophia Kehres and Sophia Kantorovich, Amanda Ononogbo plus many more. Keep up the great work Lady Lions Next up Perry.

The Boys Lacrosse team took on Kent. They had a resounding 9-3 victory! The offense was led once again by Oliver G., scoring another six goals. You heard that right folks! Back to back games scoring six goals! Other goal contributors were Charlie N., George G., and Maxim Z. The defense was once again the solid core of Calvin D., Jordan C., and Oscar S. Also bringing the energy on defense was Jake B., Oliver M., and Adam N. Our midfield was moving and grooving last night. The midfield consisted of Hank V., Max G., Liam S., Evan N., and Will S. Working in the rotation at attack were Alex P., and Zach D. Last but not least --- the man between the pipes --- Amit T! He had another excellent game stopping shots and contributed to a fast break that led to a score. Come on out to next Monday's home game as your Lions Lacrosse look to battle Cleveland Heights.

The Builders Club is partnering with The Chagrin Falls Fire Department to conduct a food drive. Please bring in nonperishable items and drop them in the boxes by the front enThere will be NO Creation Club meetings this week. Take your usual modes of transportation home. We will resume the week of APRIL 10th.

Congratulations to the lady Lions track team winning in dominating fashion last night at home vs Edgewood 77-42 in their first meet of the season with a strong performance from Morgan Zucker, Ahdiya Edmonds, Aya Sayah, Natalie Abruzzo, Natalie Martinzic, Jaslynn Walker, Sarah Gent plus a host of others. Great win team!

The boy's track team lost a close meet at home last night vs Edgewood 63-56, strong performances were had by Michael Shuster, Nathaniel Dupont, Atreya Bhatt, Lucas Thompson, Mikey Stepanyan, Chaz Rosiles, and a host of others. Great job team!

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Brady!  An exciting collection of books, posters and fun school supplies will be available in the LGI all next week, February 28th to March 3rd. Please come check it out!  

On Monday to celebrate Right to Read Weeks, “Paws for a GREAT book”, we will be making tasty treats and doggy bandanas in the LGI during study hall.  If you would like to join the fun, please stop by the Media Center before Monday's study hall to get a pass.  Space is limited.

OHS Lion Baseball Skills Camp - 6-8 grade

Congratulations to our Power of the Pen writers who competed this weekend at the district tournament at University School. Placing 11th place over all for 7th grade was Henry Miller, Placing 10th was Lauren Collier. Placing 4th place for 8th grade was Amarah Udeh, and the combined writing of the 8th grade team earned them 2nd place. Congratulations writers!

Attention Pet Lovers! The Yearbook Club will be holding its annual Pet Photo Contest starting December 12. Prizes will be awarded for The Most Original Pet, Funniest Pet, Most Unique Pet, Best Cat, and Best Dog. All pet pictures will be in the Brady Middle School Yearbook. Submit your pictures to Mr. Deyoung or Mrs. Cannata by December 21.

The Brady Middle School Swim Team swam at the North Ohio 7th & 8th Grade Invitational 2022 for their final swim meet of the season.  All the swimmers did a great job this season and 11 of the swimmers finished in the top eight places in their events.  The Orange Brady Middle School girl's swim team took eighth place with a score of 57.  The Orange Brady Middle School boy's swim team took 10 place with a score of 24. 

The 7th Boys Basketball team defeated the Gilmour Lancers 45-12. The boys improved their record to 7 and 3. Leading the boys in scoring were Chas Rosiles with16 points, Evan Novack with12, and George Gallup, Josh Tomaselli, and Kaiyle Lessock with 4 points a piece. Leading the team in assists was Jaylen Sheppard. Defensive players of the game were Jake Ponsky and Wyatt Federer. Way to go boys!!

Congratulations to your 8th grade boy’s basketball winning their second game in a row dominating Glimour winning the game by 20 points. The Lions were Led by Luke with 9 points , Ej with9 points ,  both Jordan Clotman and Jordan Eason with 6 Next up our Rivals Beachwood today at 4 pm

Congratulations to Ben Clayton for being awarded a first place spot in the PTA Reflections contest. His poem, "Shots Fired" placed first in the literature category. Well done, Ben! :)

Time is running out! If you would like your artwork to be considered for this year's Yearbook Cover, please get your entry into Mr. DeYoung or Mrs. Cannata. All entries must be received by November 29.  Submissions must be an original design, portrait style, on 8.5 x 11 inches paper. Hand drawn or digital creations are permitted.

The Brady Middle School Swim Team swam against Hawken Middle School and won with a combined team score of 198 to 105.  The Orange Middle School Swimmers took 14 first place finishes out of 22 events.  

First place in the girls 200 yard Medley relay was Elizabeth Campbell, Charlotte Bolton, Lucy Jais, and Clara Russo. First place in the boys 200 yard Medley relay was Gianni Cakulev, Suchin Wyckoff, Gideon Greenberg, and Oscar Siebel. 

 First place in the girls 200 yard freestyle was Lucy Jais.  First place in the boys 200 yard freestyle was Gianni Cakulev.  

First place in the girls 50 yard freestyle was Elizabeth Campbell. First place in the boys 50 yard freestyle was Oscar Seibel. First place in the 50 yard butterfly was Lucy Jais. 

First place in the girls 100 yard freestyle was Clara Russo. 

First place in the boys 100 yard freestyle was Oscar Seibel.  

First place in the boys 400 freestyle was Suchin Wyckoff.  

First place in the girls 200 yard freestyle relay Lucy Chalsson, Lilly Tsutskiridze, Sophia Kehres, and Samathna Speer.  

First place in the girls 50 yard breaststroke Charlotte Bolton.  

First place in the girls 400 yard freestyle relay was Clara Russo, Charlotte Bolton, Elizabeth Campbell, and Lucy Jais.

Hathaway Brown and University Schools vs. Brady Middle School Swim Meet on November 3. 

The scores for the girls teams are as follows for Brady Middle School 105 and Hathaway Brown Middle School 60.  The scores for the boys teams are as follows University School 89 and Brady Middle School 58.  Everyone on the Brady Middle School did a fantastic job yesterday at the swim meet.  The girls 200 yard Medley relays placed first and third.  The boys 200 yard Medley relay placed second.  The girls 200 yard free relays placed first and third. The boys 200 yard Free relays placed first and third place.  The girls 400 yard Free relay placed first. Today is the first day of the Brady Canned Food Drive. Please place your non-perishable food items in the large bag labeled with your Pride teacher's name in your Pride classroom. Listen to the announcements tomorrow morning to hear the top three pride totals after day 1. 

Children are more likely to face food insecurity than any other group in the United States. But, you can help. Bring food items to donate to the canned food drive and place them in the bag in your pride room. The leading Pride from yesterday is Mrs. Apaestegui’s Pride with 22 items. Mrs. McGeown’s pride is in 2nd place with 17 items and in third place is Mr. Potiker’s Pride with 15 items. Every student in the winning pride will receive a gift card to Mitchell’s Ice Cream. Keep on bringing canned food to school to help hungry kids and people in need.

Extra Halloween Candy? Share it with the troops serving here in The United States and overseas. Turn in unwanted, leftover candy to Ms. Schaedler in room 226. It will be sent to our troops through a program called Operation Gratitude

The food drive officially starts next Monday Oct 31, and goes the whole week until Friday November 4th!  The builders club is asking you to bring in any food donations and put them in the bag in your Pride classroom labeled with your Pride teacher’s name. SPORTS NEWS:

The Brady Lions Girls Tennis team won all three of their matches last week vs teams from Shaker Middle School, Old Trail and Hathaway Brown.  Leading the way for the Lions was Jaya Dixit, with three singles court wins, including a come-from-behind thriller against Old Trail.  Also playing very well for the Lions were Adele Tokmazeysky and Sophie Eisenberg, each with two singles court wins.

 Starring on the doubles courts with two wins each were Siena DiCioccio and Erin Klampe, highlighted by Sienna and her partner Cydney Feinberg and Erin and her partner Lulu Hoffer winning close, hard-fought matches against Hathaway Brown.

Also contributing wins for the Lions last week were Zeynep Berber, Lyla Uram, Tristyn Carran and Laney Kozak.  The Lions’ record is 8-4 and they finish the season this week with a match at Mayfield.

Congratulations to the 7th grade Girls Volleyball Team who defeated Beachwood in 2 games.  High scorers, in order, were Emma Hegyes, Kate Aheam, Kate Raxlin, Dylan Kanengeiser, and Naomi Bolen.  It was an outstanding and exciting match.  Keep up the great work.  See you on Saturday.  The time will be announced today.

Sports NEWS!!

The 8th grade Lady Lions Volleyball team roared to victory yesterday against the Brooklyn Hurricanes in a two game defeat. Great serves by Addie Massey, Natalie Martincic, and Kelsey Lewis. Good work girls!

Congratulations to the Brady girls soccer team as they won both of their matches this week.  On Wednesday the girls defeated Painesville by a score of 7-0.  Leading the offense were Natalie Abruzzo, Morgyn Zucker and Sarah Gent all scoring for the Lions.  Then, Thursday the girls traveled to Perry and won a defensive battle by a score of 1-0.  The lone goal was scored by Morgyn Zucker, and Lucy Jais registered the full game shutout.  Great job girls!

Congratulations to the Brady girls soccer team as they defeated Brush yesterday by a score of 4-0.  Morgyn Zucker led the way for the Lions with a hat trick of 3 goals and Sarah Gent added another goal.  Special mention the Lions defense as they have now only surrendered one goal in their last 3 matches.  The defense has been led by Liz Campbell, Zoe Ng, Sofia Klein, Jill Bradbourne, with Olivia Slocum and Lucy Jais each registering a shutout in goal.  Great job girls!

The Girls Tennis team improved their record on the season to 3-1 with a victory against Roxboro Middle School in Cleveland Heights on Monday afternoon.  The Lions won easily on all six courts.  Recording wins for the Lions in the all-doubles match were the teams of Adele Tokmazeysky and Sophie Eisenberg, Jaya Dixit and Erin Klampe, Siena DiCioccio and Cydney Feinberg, Clara Russo and Lulu Hoffer, Zeynep Berber and Lyla Uran, Tristyn Carran and Laney Kozak.  The Lions will be back in action on Wednesday against South Euclid Memorial and Thursday against Hawken.


Yesterday the Boys Soccer Team defeated Berkshire 10-1. Outstanding play from Charlie Newman and Kamran May. They both had 2 goals apiece and multiple assists. Next up Crestwood today at Home game starts @ 5:30

The Brady Girls Tennis team won a tightly contested match at Mayfield on Thursday by a 3-2 score.

The Lions were led to victory with wins by Sophie Eisenberg at First Singles, Jaya Dixit at Second Singles, and a big comeback effort by the First Doubles tandem of Clara Russo and Siena DiCioccio.  Also recording wins for the Lions were the Exhibition Doubles teams of Zeynep Berber/Lulu Hoffer and Erin Klampe/Jaya Dixit.  Also playing well in hard fought matches were Erin Klampe at Third Singles, Cydney Feinberg/Lyla Uram at Second Doubles and Tristyn Carran/Laney Kozak at Exhibition Doubles.The Lions are now 2-1 on the season.


Congratulations to the 7th grade girls volleyball team as they won their second match in a row defeating Beachwood in 3 exciting games.  High scoreres were Kate Aheam, Sam Merritt, and Hollyn Schumacher with 10 points each.Way to go girls! Congratulations to Syniah Barnes who also scored 10 points in the volleyball match against Beachwood!
