Research Data & Design MP1

The task of this assignment was to conduct research on a topic of my choice and construct a research paper with ideas that are supported by the research I found. The assignment was meant to serve as an introduction to writing formal research papers to prepare of for our Senior Capstone Papers. With this assignment, I learned how to take information from various sources and find ways to make it cohesively be used to support different claims. 

With this paper, I took it as an opprotunity to learn more about Selena Quintanilla-Perez, one of the most iconic tejano singers of all time. This assignment highlighted my ability to take very specific pieces of evidence from different sources and have it flow together to support the overall thesis statement of the paper. I was able to continuously support the evidence back to my thesis and connect all of the claims made throughout the paper. 

With this assignment, the task was to find at least seven credible sources that provided quality information that could be used for our Senior Capstone projects. The objective is to be able to effectively sort through sources in a way that allows us to understand the infromation we are finding and connect it to the subject of our paper. This was ultimately the beginning of our capstone projects, serving as preliminary research that set the foundation for what the goals of our project would be.

This was a challenging assignment due to the fact that the credible sources on the topics of sunscreen and sunscreen advancements were limited. I would improve this assignment by trying to use different search engines and sources of information so that we would have more information to analyze and use for our paper. If I were to redo this assignment, I woud focus on information that could help us with a formula that we would actually be able to create with the resources that are available to us.
