During Mp(Marking Period)1 we were assigned a project where we had to create a brochure about a forming nation that existed between the years 650-1450. Our requirements were to present the government, economy, geography, culture, and religion of the nation. I am proud of this assignment as me and my group were able to get all the information we needed and created a nice looking brochure. Overall my group did really well on presentations but I am proud of the fact that I was able to retain and remember all of the information I needed to present without having to look at the slides often.
For mp1 and every mp we had to do a current event for homework. For this specific one we had to write about Hispanic heritage month. I had gotten a 85 on this assignment. I know that this assignment needs improvement. Even while submitting it I didn't believe it was that good due to me not liking the way I wrote my reasoning. In order to improve this assignment I will work on improving my reasoning as that is the area that needs the most work.
For mp2, we had a project where we had to write about different trade goods. The objective was to give information about different goods that were traded and the information was the price, history, where can you buy one, and the significance of it during its time. We also could either put present the information in a story or in a essay, for this I had done a mixture of both. I am proud of this assignment as I believe I did really well and I had gotten a 90 on it.
During mp2, we had to write a essay on whether migration was a good or bad. We had gathered evidence from multiple resources and had to choose between whether migration was good, bad, or both. For this essay I chose both and while I did do well on the assignment (90), I believe it needs more work as to me it isn't my best work as I think the explaining the evidence needs work. In order to improve the essay I would put greater detail in my intro and conclusion, I will also make things more clear in the reasoning.
For mp3, we were learning about the Industrial revolution and had vocab words for the topic. For the vocab words we had to write a unique story with the words given to us. I really did well and I am proud of this assignment as I believe I wrote a good story. With this story I attempted to show the life of a average factory worker during the revolution. I wrote on their terrible living conditions and made sure to have good pacing while also keeping it a bit short. Overall I received a hundred for the story.
This is a writing assessment that had to be done during mp3 where we had to answer prompts based on a reading we were given and had a time limit on it. This was to test our growth from the beginning of the year. In this assessment we read about how people in power reacted to wealth accumulation. While I did good on this assessment it is something I need to improve on as in the beginning I had trouble figuring out what to write, what pieces of evidence I should use for my claim, and how to structure my body paragraphs. For next time I'll make sure I am better at structuring my writing.
For mp4, this was my group's presentation on how a nation of Africa was affected by imperialism. The nation we chose was the Gold Coast (pre-Ghana) and the region of the ivory coast. For the actual presentation I did well as our group did our part in creating our slides and put the necessary information on there. During the actual presentation I did well as I made sure that I knew content well and I was able to tell most of contents without turning to the slides.
During mp 4, we were learning on how the Industrial Revolution had affected African nations. During this time we received a project where we could create a poster about an invention, a disease, make a model and a few other ways to do the project created that broke out or were invented during the industrial revolution. For this assessment I chose canned food and made a poster about it. I did okay on the assignment but I could have done better. Next time I will make sure to spend more time on the poster and make it more informative.
