May is Children's Mental Health Awareness Month!

This month, HES Dolphins will be talking about the importance of being healthy, not just in our bodies but in our minds. This means recognizing that all feelings are normal, and learning how to recognize and express our feelings in a healthy way. We will be learning about how stress affects our bodies and ways to make ourselves feel better. On Thursday May 9th we encourage all staff and students to WEAR GREEN for mental health awareness and to show support for members of our community who have mental illness.

More information will come home in your student's folder as we approach this week!

Red Ribbon Week is October 23rd-26th!

Next week, HES, along with all elementary schools across Orange County, and thousands of others across the nation, will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week. The purpose of Red Ribbon Week is to present a visible commitment to living a safe, healthy, and drug-free life. This is a national campaign used by educators and community leaders to teach children and youth an important lesson; say “No!” to drugs, and “Yes!” to healthy lifestyles! This week of celebration will be integrated into our recognition of National Bullying Awareness and Prevention month, and it also reinforces our Dolphin expectation of Respect!
