Future-thinking in the school- symposium on 17.11.21 at Pielevesi created a summary of the results of this project but at the same time, it was an open event for everyone interested in the future of school design.
The seminar was opened by the Director of Education in Pielavesi by reviewing this educational package, emphasizing the importance of collaborative planning between schools. Counselor of Education Pia Kola-Torvinen from the National Agency of Education in Finland described the results of the projects of future-thinking in schools.
Professor Teemu Leinonen from Aalto University had a presentation with the theme of. "If a place/space is good for children, it is also good for all of us". Vera Schulman, head of the school design projects from the city of Helsinki, told how Helsinki ensures that user needs are taken into account in school projects. Ph.D. Kreeta Niemi, University of Jyväskylä, described what kind of experiences students and teachers have with new kinds of school facilities.
