AI has become a large part of my academic and professional life as it enhances efficiency and productivity. During our PLG discussion this week, we all shared how much our use of AI has increased in the last year or so. Initially, we focused our conversation on ChatGPT, given that it was the most commonly used form of AI for all of us. We shared that it is useful for tasks such as proofreading our work and giving different perspectives on our ideas. It also helped many of us gather articles for a literature review assignment we have in another course, by streamlining the research process by quickly identifying relevant sources.
As our discussion progressed, we realized that AI has been a regular part of our lives for quite some time. Many of us use AI assistants like Siri, Alexa, and Google Assistant for everyday tasks such as checking the weather, setting reminders, and automating texting or calling. These tools also enhance our productivity by handling routine tasks and automation such as turning on lights or setting alarms.
I believe there is more room for growth in AI utilization surrounding personalized learning. AI has the potential to adapt educational content to meet the specific needs and learning styles of individual students, providing customized study plans that can lead to improved academic performance. AI can also further enhance collaboration and innovation in professional development environments through resource creation and by suggesting activities to boost communication. In conclusion, while AI already plays a crucial role in my academic and personal life, its growth potential is huge. By continuing to dedicate funding to research and increasing AI literacy among peers and students, we can achieve greater efficiency, innovation, and success in its use.
