Assessment
1) Reading Test: students view a text with pictures about school in France on their own laptops while answering multiple choice comprehension questions. Students are marked on demonstration of reading comprehension.
2) Speaking Test: students work in small groups to produce a video tour of Island School in France. All students appear in and speak in the video. Students are given a three-part structure to follow when producing the video. Video length - 1 to 2 minutes. Students are marked on pronunciation and content.

Factual: What verbal phrases do I need to know to describe common free-time activities? How do I express likes and dislikes in French? How do I give reasons for liking and disliking certain activities in French? What are some adjectives I can use to describe free-time activities in French? How do I write a letter in French? What is the correct format to use? What are some typical French free-time activities that are new to me?
Conceptual: How and why do we make adjectives agree in French?
Debatable: How important is it to use the correct register when expressing yourself in French, in terms of addressing people using tu/vous and using different levels of formality in letter-writing?
