Unit 1 Family Matters

i. Note-taking

Unit 1 Summative Assessment: 

Listening: Watch and listen carefully to a clip of a Chinese teenager introducing herself and  family.  Answer questions about the audio-visual text. 

Reading: View a text with pictures about a typical Chinese family. Identify basic facts and main ideas based on a text about one’s personal particulars and family. Students are marked on demonstration of reading comprehension.

Unit 2 Expression of Time

Use a variety of speaking techniques to communicate with a variety of audiences.

Unit 2 Summative Assessment: 

Writing: Write about his/her daily routine and that of his/her family members (minimum 50-100 characters) 

Reading: Identify basic facts and main ideas based on a text about one’s personal particulars and family members’ daily routine as well as means of transportation to go to work or school. Students are marked on demonstration of reading comprehension.

Speaking: Talk about a typical day of yourself and your family. Speak for 1.5-2 minutes (voice recording)

Unit 3 Envisage Me

ATL: IV Creativity and Innovation

Apply existing knowledge to generate new ideas, products or processes

Unit 3 Summative Assessment: 

Listening: Watch and listen carefully to a clip of a Chinese teenager introducing her daily routine, her appearance, and her outfit. Answer questions about the audio-visual text in Chinese (time, routine, colors, clothes, etc.)

Speaking: You are introducing your favorite celebrity or KOL to your friend with a PPT covering.

Writing: You are writing a Chinese class yearbook for memorizing this amazing year.
