What Do I Bring To My Appointment?
Federal or state issued picture IDs
Social Security cards for you, your spouse (if any), and your dependents (and birthdates)
All sources of income:
W-2s, 1099- NEC, 1099-MISC
Retirement (1099-R)
Social Security (1099-SSA)
Unemployment income (1099-G), also State Tax Refunds
Bank interest (1099-INT)
Dividends (1099-B)
Stock sales, Capital Gains/Losses from investment accounts like Robinhood, etc. (1099-DIV, 1099-B)
Virtual currency (1099-B)
Form 1098 - Mortgage Interest Statement
Property Taxes paid
Sales Tax paid on vehicle purchase
Charitable donations (church, United Way, Goodwill, etc)
Form 1095-A Only
(not 1095-B or 1095-C)
ONLY If you had health insurance through the Marketplace (also sometimes referred to as Obamacare)
Student loan interest paid (1098-E)
Tuition statements (1098-T, usually found on school website)
HSA (Health Savings Account) or FSA (Flexible Savings Account) - Form 1099-SA
Solar Panel contract with activation date, total costs, any rebates given
Replaced a water heater or A/C, windows/doors of your house with energy efficient ones? You may qualify for a credit, so bring those purchase receipts!
If you sold a house or purchased a house last year, bring the Closing Disclosure documents
IP PIN (Identity Protection Personal Identification Number) – IF you have one, the IRS mails them out around Dec/Jan each year. You will receive a new IP PIN every single year.

Total income
Total expenses listed out by category/type
Documented mileage (handwritten or digital format acceptable) per month
Any other expenses or considerations like company machinery, bank interest, etc.
Own a Rental House? You'll also need the following:
Total rental income
Mortgage interest, property tax, and home owner's insurance paid
Management fees (if run through a management company)
Utilities paid (electric, water, sewer, trash, pest control, lawn care, etc)
Purchase price and date of purchase to calculate depreciation
Advertising and/or commission costs
Repairs and supplies
Documented mileage to manage rental
