Policies on Late work and Absences
1. Regular late policy is 10% off each day it is late and after 3 days it is a zero/no credit. If a student did their work, but left it at home, this will still receive the 10% off until turned in.
2. Planned absences have the expectations that the student brings home all of their books and materials and checks the website for homework. Please be sure to always check the website, as we are working diligently to update it and also keep Google Classroom updated for the students and parents with the assignments. Work is expected to be completed when they arrive back in school.
3. Quarantine expectations are the same as previously stated. When in quarantine the student is expected to be doing all the work and turning in on time online to the teacher or through Google Classroom. Students should have all of their books and materials, as they have already taken them home, or they have all been taken down to the office for them.
4. Covid- If diagnosed with covid, it is imperative you let the office and the teachers know, especially if the student is sick. Many of the students that tested positive, have come back and said they did not have any symptoms. If this is the case, it is essential that they do their work daily and keep up on everything. This is why we put everything online for them in Google classroom. There may be a grace period when coming back to school, but these will be considered on a case by case basis.
5. Sick (Not Covid) If the student is well enough, they should try to complete as much work as possible that is posted on the daily homework page. We are seeing that the students who are not keeping up with their work are having trouble catching up with everything. If they are unable to do any work then there will be a grace period depending on the situation. (Usually this is 1 day for each sick day, then the late policy goes into effect).
When students are absent or missing work, we all put an (M) in for missing. This helps you and the student to be alerted that an assignment needs to be completed otherwise the late policy goes into effect.
