Whole School Masses
Whole school Masses take place at the end of each term to celebrate the following Liturgical Events:
-Y7 Welcome Mass
-Advent Masses
-Easter Masses
-End of Year Masses
Classes will come down to the main hall to celebrate the Blessed Sacrament as a community.
“Jesus said to them again, ‘Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.’ And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained’” (John 20:21-23).
All pupils are invited to Reconciliation during Lent and Advent. Pupils can also request to speak to Fr.Fabias at their request.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is one of the most unique and beautiful aspects of Catholicism. Jesus Christ, in His abundant love and mercy, established the Sacrament of Confession, so that we as sinners can obtain forgiveness for our sins and reconcile with God and the Church. The sacrament “washes us clean,” and renews us in Christ.
OLHS Marian Houses
Our Lady's RC High School has four Marian Houses that all Pupils and Staff are welcomed into.
Within our school community, we aim to initiate the Marian Values of; Faith, Charity & Discipleship.
How do we honour the Marian Apparitions?
Within our form structure, Our Lady's High School attaches form groups to a Marian House. This encourages spirit and Catholic Ethos across all year groups, uniting pupils and staff in their Marian Houses.
At OLHS we follow the Liturgical Calendar and celebrate the Feast Days of the Marian Houses we embody into our school community. Pupils in the Houses are nominated by form teachers on these feast days, to receive a reward for their contributions towards the Catholic Ethos.
We also embed the Marian Houses into the whole school sports days, where pupils compete in their forms to represent their Marian House.
Faith In Action
At OLHS, our pupils have the opportunity to participate in the Faith in Action Award, celebrated by the Salford Diocese.
This award is completed by our Year 7 Cohort within their form time. Pupils have the chance to recieve the Bronze Award for completing 25 hours of Charity work.
Other year groups within the school have the opportunity in their upper years to complete the Silver and Gold award through the Religious Life Groups on offer at OLHS.
