Exponents

Basic exponent operations can be represented by repeated multiplication.

43 = 4 x 4 x 4 = 64

When we say an exponent out loud, we call a number with a power of two squared or a power of three cubed.

Order of Operations

When multiplying/dividing or adding/subtracting, move through the equation from left to right.

*Multiplication and/or Addition does not have to be completed first if division and/or subtraction appears first*

Greatest Common Factor



  1. List all the factors of both numbers

  2. Circle all of the common factors

  3. The largest number is the Greatest Common Factor (GCF)

Least Common Multiple



  1. List the first few multiples of each number

  2. Mark the common multiples from both numbers

  3. Select the smallest common multiple to find the LCM
