Principal's Message
Happy New Year! We hope that everyone enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Break! We look forward to the New Year and have really enjoyed having your children back at Convent Glen! This month we have our boys and girls badminton tournaments coming up in a couple of weeks and our Gr. 6 milestone photos on Januray 23rd. Finally, please don't forget about our Ottawa 67's fundraiser on Jan 30th. More details below.
Please ensure that your child arrives at school dressed for the cold winter weather (winter coat, snow pants, hat, waterproof mittens/gloves, winter boots, extra pair of mittens/gloves and socks) as the temperature has dropped, and the school yard can become quite wet if we have periods of warmer temperatures.
9:15 arrival time - if your child arrives after 9:15, they have to come to the front office. They cannot enter through the back doors.
CSPA invites parents to attend:
January’s General Meeting (Wed, Jan 28th), virtually, to learn about the new system principal roles and about the upcoming OCSB Student Census. There will be an interactive portion: how parents can support math fluency.
A repeat virtual parent session with the author of "The Family Smartphone Guide: Navigating Physical, Mental, and Legal Challenges in a Digital World” on Thurs, Jan 29th
Parents can register through THIS link for either session.
New - Convent Glen Vocal Group
Hello, My name is Ms Jean. You might have seen me around in Kindergarten or maybe just by my bright colour hair. I am starting up a vocal group for Convent Glen Catholic School, separate from the school choir. Here, I hope to have them warm up their voices and sing songs, not for mass and liturgy, while still keeping it appropriate. My hopes are to have a performance at some point. I have done choir at my previous schools and have gone to Carleton for Music. I want the children to have fun with singing while also trying to challenge them. We will be practicing Wednesday mornings 8am-9am in the learning commons. This will begin January 14th (next week).
Below is a link to the website where you can sign up with a digital permission form, if your child wishes to participate. I can provide a physical copy of the form if needed. I am opening it up to grade 1-6, but I do have a code of conduct that I will expect. I would like each child to attend all sessions, unless there is an acceptable reason. Children should be respectful to both myself and other staff or students. I will be updating this page as much as possible. I have already included some warm ups that I will be using with the children and will be posting songs, once we have started them. It would be great if they can look over them and even practice at home.

Dear Convent Glen Families,
We hope you are doing well. We have some exciting news to share with you about a wonderful opportunity for our school choir.
Our talented student choir has been invited to perform the National Anthem at an Ottawa 67's hockey game! The choir will get to sing in front of about 4,000 cheering fans at TD Place in Lansdowne on Friday, January 30th at 7:00 PM. What an amazing experience this will be for our young singers and school community!
This event is a great fundraising opportunity for our school. Family members can buy tickets to the performance and game. Tickets are available to purchase on School Cash Online starting this evening for $26 each, which is cheaper than purchasing tickets online. For every ticket sold, $5 will go directly back to our school, making this an amazing fundraising opportunity! Any money raised will go towards various school enhancements.
School Cash online is open until January 20th for this event.
What's Included
Each choir student will receive a complimentary ticket to the game. Our school will have our own special section (Section 27) where families can sit together. After singing the anthem, please come to get your child from the singing area to watch the rest of the game together. Once the anthem has finished, there is no staff supervision. Feel free to sit anywhere in section 27.
Please note that transportation to and from TD Place will need to be arranged by each family. The venue is located at Lansdowne Park in Ottawa, which has parking available.
We are so excited about this opportunity for our choir students to shine! Thank you for supporting our choir program and helping make these special experiences possible for our students.
If your child will attend the event, please cut and fill out the slip below and have your child return it to school before Friday December 12th, 2025 to any choir leader.
Sincerely,
Sarah Lepindea, Monique Guillouzic and Karenne Cormier
