Principal's Message
Monday January 19 is the OCSB’s fifth annual United In Black Day. All staff and students are encouraged to wear black as a symbol of unity and an opportunity to raise our awareness about anti-Black racism (and racism in all its forms), to raise the profile of the systemic barriers Black people have faced and continue to face within our school communities, and to speak up against racism wherever it shows itself to ensure our schools become safer spaces where every student feels seen, valued, and empowered to succeed.
Next week, Convent Glen is hosting the boys' badminton tournament (Jan. 21st). Many thanks to Mrs. Flynn who is coaching the boys’ team and to Mme Elliott for convening the tournament. The girls’ badminton team, coached by Mrs. Ferraro, will take place the following week. After badminton, the next school sport is handball. Good luck to the athletes representing Convent Glen!

Kindergarten registration for the 2026 - 2027 school year has begun. If you have a child turning 4 years of age by December 31, 2026, please register your child for kindergarten by the end of January. Registration during this month helps our school determine enrollment numbers in time to secure adequate staffing for September 2026. If you know any neighbourhood families with children turning 4 this year, please encourage their parents to register at Convent Glen Catholic School during January. Registration will be online. - please visit -
Gr. 6 Milestone Photos
Our grade 6 students will have their milestone photos taken on Friday, January 23rd. Please avoid scheduling appointments on this day if you wish for your child to have their photo taken.
Edge Imaging recommends students wear a white collared shirt with or without a tie, however students may wear what they are comfortable in and what is appropriate for school photos.
Dear Convent Glen Families,
We hope you are doing well. We have some exciting news to share with you about a wonderful opportunity for our school choir.
Our talented student choir has been invited to perform the National Anthem at an Ottawa 67's hockey game! The choir will get to sing in front of about 4,000 cheering fans at TD Place in Lansdowne on Friday, January 30th at 7:00 PM. What an amazing experience this will be for our young singers and school community!
This event is a great fundraising opportunity for our school. Family members can buy tickets to the performance and game. Tickets are available to purchase on School Cash Online starting this evening for $26 each, which is cheaper than purchasing tickets online. For every ticket sold, $5 will go directly back to our school, making this an amazing fundraising opportunity! Any money raised will go towards various school enhancements.
School Cash online is open until January 20th for this event.
What's Included
Each choir student will receive a complimentary ticket to the game. Our school will have our own special section (Section 27) where families can sit together. After singing the anthem, please come to get your child from the singing area to watch the rest of the game together. Once the anthem has finished, there is no staff supervision. Feel free to sit anywhere in section 27.
Please note that transportation to and from TD Place will need to be arranged by each family. The venue is located at Lansdowne Park in Ottawa, which has parking available.
We are so excited about this opportunity for our choir students to shine! Thank you for supporting our choir program and helping make these special experiences possible for our students.
If your child will attend the event, please cut and fill out the slip below and have your child return it to school before Friday December 12th, 2025 to any choir leader.
Sincerely,
Sarah Lepindea, Monique Guillouzic and Karenne Cormier
