Step 04 & Step 05

Learning Outcome

At the end of this lesson, you will :

Points to remember:

  • Your first design will never be the best
  • You need to show your design to other developers and most importantly to users

The cost to change something doubles at each successive stage of development

Principle #4

  • Quality through quantity

Our Steps:

  • Create designs, lots of them

Daily Assignment

  • Step #4
    • each member of the group is going to do this INDIVIDUALLY
    • get feedback from at least 2 people on your step #3 design
      • ensure you document the feedback and hand it in with this step
        • ensure you state who you got your feedback from
    • create another "rough" sketch of a storyboard for your game. This is a completely different take on the app
    • you will now need several cells
    • explain all the input, process and output
    • ensure it is in a logical order
  • Step #5
    • each group will look over each of the 2 ideas per member
    • they will combine, throw out, re-group and come up with a final idea
    • the group will now take all of their ideas for their app and create 1 paper model
    • start with the "main game" and then work out into the menus
    • make sure any "moving part" is cut out and actually moves around on the screen
  • each group will create "paper iPads" of their entire game
