Start College Now: Wisconsin Technical Colleges
High school students can earn college credit through the Early College Credit Program (ECCP) or Start College Now (SCN). SCN will allow students in grades 11-12 the opportunity to take college courses at Wisconsin Technical Colleges during the Fall and Spring semesters. Under ECCP/SCN, the costs of the courses are shared among the IHE, the school district, the state, and in some cases the student’s family.
Under ECCP/SCN, high school students may apply to take non-comparable OCHS coursework (ie: Fire science) or have exhausted all OCHS coursework in a specific subject (ie: AP Psychology). If approved, credits earned at the college may than be applied to the OCHS transcripts as elective credits (.25 high school elective credit for each 1 college credit earned).
Students may not be concurrently enrolled in both programs and are limited to a maximum of 18 credits total for the duration of their eligibility. More information may be found on the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction's website and ECCP/SCN Comparison Chart.
