(9321S) Grades 9, 10, 11, 12

This is a class for makers who want to sample a variety of 3D Art materials.  In Art Metals units students will learn how to turn their ideas into wearable metal artwork using cold connections, soldering with an acetylene torch, and a variety of wire forming techniques.  In our Sculpture units students will explore casting and creating additive, subtractive, and installation artwork. Students will have the opportunity to work with many different materials depending on their interests including plaster, clay, paper, fabric, wire, found objects, latex mask making, and stained glass in the creation of the semester's work.

This class is for students interested in making both functional wares and fine art out of clay. Students will explore all the different ways to create ceramics artwork from hand built sculptures to throwing on the potter's wheel and slip casting.  Students will also learn new and experimental ways to glaze and decorate pieces.  If you’ve ever been curious about throwing on the potter’s wheel, this is the class for you.

(9331S) Grades 10, 11, 12

3D Art Studio is designed for the advanced and motivated art metals, sculpture, or ceramics student. This course gives students the opportunity to work independently to develop a 3D art portfolio that can be used for college and career applications. Students will conduct personal research on how to master new skills of their choice with the guidance of their teacher.
