Proposal Awarded Federal Funding

From the Kreider Newsletter--

A new center for children dealing with developmental, behavioral, social and emotional issues will soon become a reality. On April 24th, Kreider Services learned that it had been awarded $887,552 in funding by the Health Resources and Services Administration, Office of Rural Health Policy.

The initial goal of this grant, explains Laura Watters, Director of Autism and Day Services of Kreider Services, is to acquire the physical space to house the Pediatric Developmental Center.

"Conceptually we are looking for space that will house multiple provider organizations under roof. We’ll have KSB Hospital, Sinnissippi Centers and Kreider Services providing their respective services to children between the ages of birth and 18 at the same location."

"If a child comes in and has multiple needs - for instance developmental and behavioral issues - then that family will be referred to the appropriate organization for their treatment," adds Watters.

The service area for this grant will be youth from Lee, Ogle, Carroll, and Whiteside Counties. More information on the development of this project will be rolled out in the coming months."

The OCEC had two employees working on the grant committee. Congratulations on all your hard work paying off!
