Autism Team
April is Autism Awareness Month
OCEC has an Autism Team which is comprised of team members varying in disciplines, training and experience. Team members represent disciplines including a speech therapist, special and general education teachers, social workers, a school psychologist, occupational therapists, consultants and a parent. The goal of the team is to be proactive an action oriented. Over the past few years, administration from OCEC and the team collaborated with the Rural Health Network, to obtain a grant from the Health Resources and Service Administration Office of Rural Health Policy to open a Pediatric Developmental Center for Lee, Ogle, Whiteside and Carroll Counties. The center, called “Florissa,” where children and families flourish, is located in Dixon. If you have questions or inquiries of future trainings, please contact the OCEC Main Office at 815-234-2722.
