At Obsidian Institute of Integrative Medicine, we understand that cost can be a prohibitive factor to receiving services. Many of our programs are free to participants. This is able to be maintained through donations as well as service fees that clients pay through insurance or self-pay. These fees allow us to pay staff, contractors, and all other service personnel who assist with programming while keeping programs at low and no cost for those who are not able to pay.

Reduced fee counseling: We have four clinicians that work with our staff. Erica Washington-Miyakuni, MA, LCPC, LMHC, NCC and Enchelle Morris, MA, LCPC, CADC, NCC (A Bridge to Healing Therapeutic Services, LLC), Diamond Nelson, MA, LPC, and Deborah Bates, MA. They provide services on a reduced fee basis. This is based on those making under $75,000 per year. Service fees are reduced by half making the fee more affordable for those who don't have insurance that covers mental health or that have high deductibles and cannot afford the original fee. Spaces are limited and time-sensitive.

Counseling Internship: Our counseling interns are Masters and Doctoral level clinicians who provide services while they learn how to be effective clinicians. Interns are not paid, so the are able to provide low cost and pro-bono services for clients in need. All fees paid go to programming costs and allow for other who are unable to pay to have services available to them. Please CLICK HERE to view information about our interns.

Wellness grant: The OIIM wellness grant helps to pay the balance for services that clients are unable to pay. Donations are collected and allocated to the wellness grant which then is automatically applied to accounts where concerns about finances have been noted. Clients do not have to fill out any forms for this grant. It is automatically applied.

Creative Healing:

Cosplay Therapy is a program that helps clients to utilize cosplay as a coping mechanism. The focus is on helping BIPOC to learn about cosplay and experience activities that can help learn focus, creative emotional outlet, how to build self-esteem and self-efficacy.
