There are many films that have been made based on events during Nazi Germany and WW2. Below are some that you could watch. However, when watching these remember they were made for entertainment and do not always tell the full truth.
This film is about the life o f Hitler, it starts with Hitler's childhood and goes up to WW2. It gives a good overview of his rise and Robert Carlyle is great at portraying Hitler's mannerisms and persona.
This is the web address for a documentary on the July Bomb Plot, an attempt to assassinate Hitler.
This film, Valkyrie, is about the July Bomb Plot. This assassination attempt was by members of the German Army. The film portrays them as wanting to kill Hitler as they thought he was evil. In reality it was more to do with the fact that the aristocrat generals involved didn't like that he was an Austrian peasant, and that he didn't always listen to them. They wanted to take the war in a different direction. Despite this, it is still a good watch and does give a good portrayal of the actual attempt, along with the build up and aftermath.
Conspiracy is a film about the Wansee Conference, the meeting to decide what to do with the Jews in Europe. This meeting led to the decision to exterminate Jews using the gas chambers. Kenneth Branagh is great as Heydrich, a leading Nazi who was nicknamed "The man with the iron heart" by Hitler.
