Mrs. Spriggs

This week's staff spotlight is on Mrs. Dena Spriggs, an Oak Hill High School teacher. Mrs. Spriggs teaches Financial Literacy (high school) and Read Theory (sixth and eighth grade). Mrs. Spriggs has taught in the Oak Hill Union Local School District for thirty-six years. Mrs. Spriggs’ favorite part of her job is she loves watching students grow and change over a year. Another favorite is having former students stop by her classroom to visit. Mrs. Spriggs hopes she has impacted students' lives by helping them grow and develop into well-rounded adults. Growing up, Mrs. Spriggs wanted to be either a Dental Hygienist or a Teacher. After her first semester in college, she firmly decided to become a teacher. If Mrs. Spriggs had not become a teacher, she believes she would have become a Veterinarian because of her love for animals. Mrs. Spriggs feels that any teaching position is rewarding as it is rewarding when you see a student finally get something they were having difficulty with… ‘seeing a lightbulb go off.’ In school, Mrs. Spriggs’ favorite subject was math. To those students who look up to Mrs. Spriggs, she says, “Always try and do your best and take on any issues or challenges with a positive, I can do it attitude. You can accomplish anything life hands you if you put your mind to it.” This school year, Mrs. Spriggs is most excited to help the seniors with the senior class and take part in all their activities, especially being able to go on the Washington D.C. trip with them. Teaching has impacted Mrs. Spriggs’ life by giving her a sense of purpose. Throughout the years, it has taught her the value of being disciplined, working hard, and being focused. Mrs. Spriggs’ favorite part about her job is the amazing people she works with. This job has impacted Mrs. Spriggs as a person in many ways, It has taught her to be more patient and remain calm in stressful situations, to be a better listener, to be a better communicator, to be more open-minded, and to be open about life experiences and life lessons. Mrs. Spriggs does not have a favorite co-worker as she enjoys working with all her co-workers. Mrs. Spriggs prefers right over left Twix, both chocolate and vanilla ice cream, and Pepsi over Coke. Mrs. Spriggs’ favorite football teams are the Bengals and the Browns, baseball is the Reds and she of course loves all Oak Hill Sports Teams!



Mrs. McCain

This week’s staff spotlight is on Mrs. Tammy McCain, an Oak Hill High School Intervention Specialist. This year is Mrs. McCain’s second year working full time after her four years of subbing for Oak Hill. Mrs. McCain’s favorite thing about her job is being there for kids and helping them reach their full potential. Mrs. McCain says that it depends on the day whether she feels she has made a difference in student’s lives. Growing up, Mrs. McCain knew she wanted to be a teacher but had no idea she would end up in intervention but is grateful for it everyday. If Mrs. McCain hadn’t gone into education, she believes she would have gone into law. During school, Mrs.McCain’s favorite subject was history. Mrs. McCain finds her job extremely rewarding. To those students who look up to Mrs. McCain she says, “ Know that everything is not always as ok as it may seem. Some days you really have to dig deeper to find the positive. BUT DIG!!! Because the positive is always worth it!”  This job has impacted Mrs. McCain’s life by giving her more of a purpose than she ever had any other position.This year Mrs. McCain was most excited about starting a new job with high school students instead of middle school needs and personalities. Mrs. McCain’s favorite part of Oak Hill Middle/High school is the small size that allows her to truly get to know her students. Mrs. McCain likes all of her co-workers equally. Mrs. McCain likes left over right Twix, vanilla over chocolate ice cream and doesn’t like either Coke or Pepsi. Mrs. McCain's favorite sports team is any team wearing the big “O”.

Mrs. Howell

This week’s staff spotlight is on Mrs. Howell. Mrs. Howell is a seventh-grade intervention specialist and has been working for Oak Hill Union Local School District for eighteen years. Mrs. Howell sure hopes she has made an impact on students' lives and is fairly confident that she has. Growing up, Mrs. Howell had no idea that she would enter the education field. If Mrs. Howell didn’t work in the education field, she would want to be either a travel agent who works from home, a professional traveler, or a professional reader. In school, Mrs. Howells’ favorite subject was either spelling or reading. Mrs. Howell finds her job rewarding, but it depends on the situation like watching when something clicks in a student's mind or seeing them feel accomplished about their work. To those students who look up to Mrs. Howell, she says, “Never Give Up!” Since acquiring her job, Mrs. Howell's life has been impacted by getting to socially and academically help prepare students for their future.

Sarah McFann

This week’s staff profile is on Sarah McFann. Sarah is Oak Hills’ Athletic Trainer and teacher for the CCP Medical Terminology and Athletic Training classes. Sarah has worked for Oak Hill since July of 2023. Sarah’s favorite part of her job is getting to work with all the athletes. Sarah hopes she has made an impact as she always tries to do what's best for the athlete given the situation. Growing up, Sarah knew she wanted to be in the health profession but wasn’t sure what her focus would be. If Sarah did not have her current job she would either be a physical therapist or an occupational therapist. In school, Sarah’s favorite subject was science. Sarah finds her job extremely rewarding, especially when she is there from the moment an athlete is injured to when they get to one-hundred percent. To those students who look up to Sarah, she says “Be kind, always do the right thing, and don’t forget to stretch.” This job has made Sarah realize how lucky she is to work with such great people. Sarah’s favorite part of OHHS is the Oak Hill community. This job has impacted Sarah as a person as she feels like she has learned a lot and gained a lot of experience about her profession in the short time she has had in Oak Hill. While Sarah likes everyone she works with, she is partial to Tim Swann who fixes the ice machine all the time. Sarah prefers left over right Twix, vanilla over chocolate ice cream, Pepsi over Coke and her favorite team is the Tennesee Volunteers. 

Mr. Kiser

This week's staff profile is on Mr. Kiser. Mr. Kiser who has been working at Oak Hill Union Local School District for seven years is a high school math teacher, student council advisor, and varsity volleyball coach. The thing Mr. Kiser loves most about his job is the ability to create a positive culture and make school fun. Mr. Kiser feels like he has built relationships with students where they talk to him and feel comfortable. Growing up, Mr. Kiser knew that he wanted to work with kids, but it wasn’t till college that he decided teaching felt right. Mr. Kiser thinks if he wasn’t a teacher his other calling would be owning a coffee shop/bookstore. Mr. Kiser, while in school, had two favorite subjects one being yearbook with Mrs. Spohn and the other being physics with Mr, Fowble. Mr. Kiser most definitely thinks his job is rewarding, especially when he sees a student succeed. To those students who look up to Mr. Kiser he says, “What makes you a good person is not about what you do for yourself but how you trust and help others.” This school year Mr. Kiser is most excited about the student council being more active and that he can be a part of that. Mr. Kiser's job has enabled him to give to the community. Mr. Kiser’s favorite part of Oak Hill Middle/High School is that he went to school, and now has the opportunity to work here with some great co-workers. This job has impacted Mr. Kiser as a person by teaching him to be empathetic and more patient. Mr. Kiser has multiple ‘favorite’ co-workers Mrs. Spohn is like a mother to him and his teacher besties are Mrs. Smalley, Mrs. Gillum, and Mr. McKinniss. Mr. Kiser prefers left over right Twix, vanilla over chocolate ice cream, and Coke over Pepsi. Mr. Kiser’s favorite college sports teams are Texas volleyball, Kentucky basketball and Ohio State football.

Mrs. Fulkerson

This week for our staff spotlight we interviewed a significant person, Mrs. Tamar Fulkerson. Mrs. Fulkerson teaches ELA 10A, ELA 12A, CCP English 12, and Journalism. Mrs. Fulkerson has been working at Oak Hill for five years and her favorite part of her job is interacting with students daily, the positive work environment, and  leaving a lasting impact on her students; she hopes they leave her class liking English a little bit more. When Mrs. Fulkerson was younger, she wanted to be a teacher, but in college, she switched her majors several times; in the end, she knew she wanted to teach. If Mrs. Fulkerson had not become a teacher she would have most likely become an international lawyer. In school Mrs. Fulkerson’s favorite subject was English but she also enjoyed history. This job is extremely rewarding to Mrs. Fulkerson; she loves sharing her love of literature and writing with students. It is amazing when students have that aha moment and something clicks. To those students who look up to Mrs. Fulkerson, “Be you. Be kind. Be true to yourself, and always try to be kind and do good in the world. Go out and share your light to make the world a better place.”  Mrs. Fulkerson looks forward to her students’ growth and success this year. Mrs. Fulkerson loves her job, and says, “When you love what you do, it has a positive impact on your life.” Mrs. Fulkerson’s favorite part of Oak Hill is the sense of community and the positive environment. Every day this job makes Mrs. Fulkerson grow, making her a better teacher or at least she thinks so. Mrs. Fulkerson has no favorite co-worker as she gets along with everyone. Mrs. Fulkerson prefers left over right Twix, vanilla over chocolate ice cream, Mrs. Fulkerson doesn’t like either Pepsi or Coke but likes tea and her favorite sports team is the Oak Hill Oaks.

Officer Hughes

This week’s staff spotlight is Officer Scott Hughes. Officer Hughes has worked as an Oak Hill Middle/High School resource officer for twenty years. Officer Hughes’ favorite part about his job is helping students and staff and working with all the staff since each one is different. Officer Hughes hopes he has made an impact on students' lives. Growing up, Officer Hughes somewhat knew he wanted his job; it just took a bit to get started. Officer Hughes has no idea what he would be if he did not have his current job. In school, Officer Hughes’ favorite school subject was history. Officer Hughes finds his job rewarding on most days. To those students who look up to Officer Hughes, he says, “Work hard, treat others the way you want to be treated.” Officer Hughes is getting to work with all the new employees this school year. Before becoming a recourse officer, Officer Hughes worked midnights and very rarely interacted with kids and now it is almost the opposite. Officer Hughes's favorite part about Oak Hill Middle/High School is the students and staff. This job has impacted Officer Hughes as a person by helping him understand people more. Everyone does not come from a perfect home. Once you see where and how some of our students live, it makes you think. While Officer Hughes likes all of his coworkers, if he had to choose, it would be Mr. Lewis. Officer Hughes likes right over left Twix, chocolate over vanilla ice cream and he prefers sweet tea over Pepsi and Coke. Officer Hughes's favorite sports team is Cincinnati Reds.

Too Fast, Too Furious

This week's staff spotlight is Mr. Matt Bennett. Mr. Bennett is the FFA advisor/educator and the Junior High Girls’ Basketball coach. Mr. Bennett has worked at Oak Hill for 14 years but was hired through Buckeye Hills Career Center. Mr. Bennett’s favorite part of his job is helping students find their careers and accomplish their goals. Mr. Bennett hopes he has made an impact on his students’ lives because they most definitely made an impact on him. Growing up, Mr. Bennett had 100% no clue he would go on to be a teacher. If Mr. Bennett had not become a teacher, he would be a butcher or an auctioneer. In school, Mr. Bennett’s favorite school subjects were FFA and Math. Mr. Bennett finds his job rewarding as his students “Buy in and get involved.” To those students who look up to Mr. Bennett, he says, “Try new things, get involved, and step out of your comfort zone.” Mr. Bennett is most excited about this school year is the milk quality team competing for a chance to represent Ohio in one of three National Contests. This job has impacted Mr. Bennett’s life by moving him and his wife two and half hours away from their families, but we have settled down roots and Oak Hill is their home. Mr. Bennett’s favorite part of Oak Hill Middle/High School is it being an amazing community that always supports our school endeavors. As a person, this job has impacted Mr. Bennett, giving him the ability to see the potential and growth of each student. Mr. Bennett’s favorite co-worker is Don Dempsey which is a great choice. Mr. Bennett thinks Twix are gross but likes Sour Patch Kids. Mr. Bennett prefers swirled chocolate and vanilla ice cream over one or the other. Mr. Bennett likes Sweet Tea. Lemonade and Arnold Palmers. Mr. Bennett’s favorite sports teams are Oak Hill Oaks and Lady Oaks, Ohio State and Buffalo Bills.

Mr. Werntz

 This week’s staff spotlight is on Mr. Werntz. Mr. Werntz is a teacher and band director at Oak Hill Middle/ High School and has been working here for eighteen years. Mr. Werntz’s favorite thing about his job is seeing students accomplish great things. This could be a one-time day event or a season accomplishment with hard work. Mr. Werntz feels he has impacted his students as countless of them have come up to him and told him even after graduation. Mr. Werntz didn’t know he wanted to be a band director until he joined the band, but before that, he really wanted to be an architect. If Mr. Werntz did not hold his current occupation, he would probably be Director of Operations or Entertainment at a Theme Park. During school, Mr. Werntz’s favorite subject was history. This job is rewarding to Mr. Werntz some days and others it is tough work. To those students who look up to Mr. Werntz, he says, “Set your goals and go for it. It all takes hard work.”  This new schedule and the new year is what excites Mr. Werntz the most about this 2023-24 school year. This job has impacted Mr. Werntz's life by making him realize that he can leave a positive impact on students' lives. Mr. Werntz’s favorite part of Oak Hill Middle/High School is the atmosphere and that this is a great place to be. This job, Mr. Werntz feels, has challenged him and made him a better person. Mr. Werntz's favorite coworker is Mrs. Koogle, which is no surprise as they work together quite hard to ensure this school has a wonderful music program. Mr. Werntz, while not a fan of Twix, does enjoy vanilla over chocolate ice cream, Pepsi over Coke and his top three sports teams are the Ohio State Football, Cincinnati Bengals, and Columbus Blue Jackets. He likes the Blue Jackets so much in fact that he has season tickets.

Mrs. Spohn

This week's teacher spotlight article is on Mrs. Kim Spohn. Mrs. Spohn is a middle school language arts teacher for grades six through eight. This year is Mrs. Spohn’s twenty-eighth year at Oak Hill. Mrs. Spohn doesn’t have a favorite thing about her job as it depends on the day. Mrs. Spohn hopes she has made an impact on students' lives,helped them gain confidence in themselves and helped to prepare them for success. Growing up, Mrs. Spohn always wanted to be a teacher and during school band and choir were her favorite. Besides teaching, Mrs. Spohn could not imagine another occupation she would want. This job is rewarding to Mrs. Spohn, especially when she sees students apply themselves or grasp a concept/ new idea. To those students who look up to Mrs. Spohn, she says, “ Be true to yourself, and choose wisely who you spend your time with.” This school year Mrs. Sphon is most excited about the opportunity to spend with students in advisory class. She is also excited to see how it improves our school culture. Being a teacher has given her the opportunities to meet so many new people and watch them grow and mature from sixth grade to senior year and become productive, successful adults. Mrs. Spohn’s favorite thing about Oak Hill Middle/High School is the people. Mrs. Spohn’s job has impacted her as a person because she has afforded her the opportunity to create valuable relationships. Mrs Spohn does not have a favorite co-worker as she enjoys everyone she works with. Mrs. Spohn prefers right over left Twix, chocolate over vanilla ice cream, diet Pepsi over Coke and her favorite sports team is Oak Hill Oaks.

Mrs. Spees

This week’s staff spotlight is about Mrs. Spees. Mrs. Spees is Oak Hill Middle/High School’s Guidance Counselor. Mrs. Spees has been working at Oak Hill for thirty-nine years, and she also taught at Meigs Local for four years, which makes this forty-three years in this field. Mrs. Spees’ favorite thing about her job is working with the students and helping seniors prepare for the future. Mrs. Spees hopes she has made an impact on students. Growing up, Mrs. Spees had no idea she would go into this career field. In high school, Mrs. Spees wanted to go into fashion merchandising and design. In school, Mrs. Spees’ favorite subject was History. This job is extremely rewarding for Mrs. Spees. To those students who look up to Mrs. Spees, she says, “If you want a rainbow, you have to put up with the rain.” Mrs. Spees is most excited this school year to work with all the students and help them become successful. This job has impacted Mrs. Spees because she loves her job working with the students and staff and that is why she is still here working. Mrs. Spees loves EVERYTHING about Oak Hill High School. Her job has made her keep updated on ways to help all staff on ways to help all of the students, especially with seniors and scholarships. Mrs. Spees says all of the staff are her favorite co-worker, especially the office staff, and her sister who is across the hall as the school nurse! Mrs. Spees prefers right over left Twix, chocolate over vanilla ice cream, Pepsi over Coke and her favorite sports teams are the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Green Bay Packers because her husband is a major Packer fan.

Mrs. Gillum

This week's staff spotlight focused on Mrs. Gillum. Mrs. Gillum has worked at Oak Hill Middle/High School for eight years and is a ninth and eleventh-grade English A and AP Language and Composition teacher. Mrs. Gillum's favorite part about her job is getting to know the students and helping them reach their full potential. Mrs. Gillum hopes she has made an impact on students. Mrs. Gillum didn’t always know she would go into education until her senior year, and during school, her favorite subject was English. If Mrs. Gillum had not become an English teacher, she believes she would have been a lawyer. Mrs. Gillum finds her job very rewarding, and she loves getting those students that she had as freshmen as juniors and seeing how much they have grown. To those students who look up to Mrs. Gillum, she says, “You are able to do difficult things! You have survived one hundred percent of your hardships so far - keep going!” Mrs. Gillum jokingly says she is most excited for summer break this school year. Getting this job has impacted Mrs. Gillum’s life by allowing her to teach closer to home and introducing her to new people in the community. Mrs. Gillum’s favorite part of Oak Hill Middle/High School is that she loves how everyone roots for each other. As a person, this job has impacted Mrs. Gillum as it has helped her see the influence she has and made her more intentional in her acts and words. Unfortunately, Mrs. Gillum won’t hurt feelings and choose a favorite co-worker, but she will say she prefers left to right Twix. Mrs. Gillum likes either vanilla or chocolate ice cream but likes peanut butter mixed in. Mrs.Gillum likes water better than both Pepsi and Coke. Last but not least Mrs. Gillum’s favorite sports team is the Cincinnati Bengals.

'Eye of the Tiger'

This week’s staff profile focuses on Mrs. Smalley.  Mrs. Smalley is the high school health teacher, intervention teacher, and middle school PE teacher at Oak Hill Middle/High School and has been working at Oak Hill since 2011. Mrs. Smalley’s favorite thing about her job is the kids, and interactions with students, especially Ella Swan according to Ella Swan. Mrs. Smalley hopes she has made an impact on students' lives, as her goal as a teacher is to have an impact, some probably more than others, especially Ella Swan. If Mrs. Smalley didn’t have this job she would most likely be a physical therapist. In school, Mrs. Smalley’s favorite subjects were math and gym. Mrs. Smalley finds her job rewarding most days when she recognizes she has made an impact on kids. To those students who look up to Mrs. Smalley, she says, “Thank you. You have helped shape me into the person I am today because I strive to be kind, caring, and respectful to be a positive role model for you. I believe in you and the amazing person you are going to become, keep shining, work hard, stay humble, and make someone smile today.” The thing Mrs. Smalley is most excited about this year is the summer of 2024. This job has impacted Mrs. Smalley’s life and has given her a chance to meet a lot of really cool people, and really cool students a.k.a. Ella Swan. Mrs. Smalley’s favorite part of Oak Hill Middle/High School is the laid-back atmosphere, fun co-workers, and Ella Swan. As a person, this job has impacted Mrs. Smalley by having some positive days and some negative ones too, but all in all, she has learned patience. Mrs. Smalley’s favorite co-workers are Mrs. Roush and Mr. Kisor, but she also liked Mrs. Swackhammer before she left her for Jackson; she also wishes Mrs. Allen’s and her schedules lined up better, so they could hang out more. Mrs. Smalley prefers right over left Twix, chocolate ice cream with chocolate chips and hot chocolate syrup on top over vanilla ice cream, her favorite sports teams are the Buckeyes and Detroit Tigers baseball team. Mrs. Smalley doesn’t like Pepsi or Coke as she has not drunk pop since the seventh grade.

The Queen of BPA

This week's staff profile article is on Mrs. Tammy Roush an Informational Technology and Interactive Media teacher. Mrs. Roush has taught at Oak Hill Middle/High School for twenty-three years. Mrs. Roush’s favorite part of her job is the creativity she can have in interactive media and the trips she gets to take students on. Mrs. Roush does believe she has made a difference in the lives of her students going further on and saying that she has former students reach out to tell her how she impacted their lives and that sometimes just being nice or challenging them is what it takes to feel you made an impact. Growing up Mrs. Roush had no idea what her future would look like, and she just stumbled into teaching; she is so glad she did. If Mrs. Roush had a different job, she would probably be a professional reader, but she is unsure if there is a paid livable salary for that particular occupation. During school, Mrs. Roush liked history and science. Mrs. Roush feels her job is very rewarding, especially seeing her students grow and become young adults. Also watching them mature and knowing she had a hand in that is a great feeling to her. To those students who look up to Mrs. Roush, she says, “Get organized, it is amazing how much easier life is when you have a place for things.” The most exciting thing Mrs. Roush looks forward to this school year is the prospect of taking some of her students to Chicago for BPA nationals. Mrs. Roush says teaching has impacted her life by being a great job while raising her son since their day matched, and she didn’t have to worry about babysitting arrangements; also she has made lifelong friends while working at OHHS. Mrs. Roush’s favorite part about working at Oak Hill High School is the staff and students; she goes on to say the staff is so supportive and great to work with. Mr. Roush’s favorite co-woker is a tie between Mr. Loomis and Mrs. Smalley. Mrs. Roush says they are both wonderful people, and she is very lucky to call them her friends. Mrs. Roush prefers chocolate over vanilla ice cream and Coke over Pepsi. 

The Mike Harden

This week's staff spotlight focuses on Mike Harden. Mr. Harden is a middle school history teacher at Oak Hill High School. Mr. Harden has been teaching at Oak Hill for fourteen years and his favorite thing about his job is June and July. Mr. Harden hopes that he has made a positive impact on his students’ lives. Growing up, Mr. Harden did not know he was going to be a teacher, and if he didn’t have his current job, he would probably be a welder, HVAC, or grass mower full time. In school, Mr. Harden’s favorite subject was gym. The job Mr. Harden now has, he does indeed find rewarding. To those students who look up to Mr. Harden he says,  “ Whatever you are doing, do your best.” Mr. Harden is most excited this school year about Christmas break and June and July of next year.  This job has impacted Mr. Harden’s life by giving stable job to feed his family. Mr. Harden’s favorite part about Oak Hill Middle/High School is the people. As a person, this job has impacted Mr. Harden as he wants to have a positive impact on those he has in class. Mr Harden, when asked about his favorite co-worker, says, “Mrs. Willis is very special, but I like everyone.” Mr. Harden prefers right over left Twix, vanilla over chocolate ice cream and he likes Pepsi and Coke he just wants it to be a little warm and flat. Mr. Harden’s favorite sports team is the Oaks.



She Can Do It All

This week's staff spotlight focuses on the amazing Brenda Rochus. Mrs. Rochus' job at Oak Hill Middle/High School is the school secretary, but I think everyone can agree she does so much more. Mrs. Rochus has been working for Oak Hill Union Local School District for twenty-four years. Her favorite thing about her job is interacting with the community and students. When asked if she feels she has impacted students' lives, she shied away and said she hopes so, but  I can assure you that she has made a lot of our lives so much easier and better. While growing, she did not think of having this job, but we are glad she does; if she didn’t have this role, she believes she would probably have bene a school bus driver. In school, Mrs. Rochus's favorite subject was band. Mrs. Rochus feels her job is most of the time rewarding; her life has been impacted by her having more time at home with her family, and as a person, she has developed more understanding and compassion for those around her. She says to those students who look up to her, “Respect yourself, respect others, and work hard.” To Mrs. Rochus, the most exciting thing about the 2023 school year is the new transitions that we have this year and learning from them. Mrs. Rochus's favorite part about Oak Hill Middle/High School is all the people. Mrs. Rochus does not have a favorite co-worker and likes everyone. Mrs. Rochus's favorites are right over left Twix, vanilla over chocolate ice cream, Pepsi over Coke and her favorite sports teams are the OHHS Bass Fishing team and the Green Bay Packers. 

New Kid on the Block

This week's staff spotlight focuses on the new Middle School Principal, Mr. Josh Donley. Mr. Donley has not worked for the Oak Hill Union Local School District for even a month but does have a background in this field as worked at Gallipolis schools for twenty-four years as a history teacher, coach, and principal. Mr. Donley’s favorite thing about his job is getting to work with kids. Mr. Donley feels he has made an impact on some students' lives and feels he has even inspired some not to drop out. Mr. Donley did not expect growing up to be in the position he now holds; all he knew was he was going to be a coach/teacher and he never expected to join the administration part of the school system. In school, Mr. Donley’s favorite subject was history. When asked if the position he holds now is rewarding, Mr. Donley responded, “Yes, it is what I chose to make of it. The more interactions I have with students the more rewarding my job becomes.”  Mr. Donley’s message to students who look up to him is “Never stop moving forward. Try every day to get a little better at life and try to lift others up.” To Mr. Donley, the most exciting thing for him going into the 2023 school year is the new opportunities, new positive changes, and getting to work where he lives. Mr. Donley’s favorite co-workers are Brenda and Penny because they take care of him. Mr. Donley prefers left over right Twix, vanilla over chocolate ice cream, Coke over Pepsi and his favorite sports teams are the Oak Hill Oaks and Ohio State Buckeyes.

This week's staff profile focuses on Mr. Lewis. Mr.Lewis is the Athletic and Transportation Director, he has been working for Oak Hill Union Local School District for nineteen years. While interviewing Mr. Lewis, he said that his favorite thing about his job is working with different people. Mr. Lewis feels he has made an impact on students' lives. Growing up, Mr. Lewis knew he wanted to be around people but didn’t know which path that would be. If Mr. Lewis was not in the occupation he was now he would have liked to have been a Pro Bass Fisherman. In school Mr. Lewis’ favorite school subject was history. On most days Mr. Lewis’ job is rewarding and despite this, the thing he looks forward to during this school year is his retirement. A message to those students who look up to Mr. Lewis is, “Be honest, friendly, willing to listen, and work hard.”  Mr. Lewis says that his job has impacted his life by being extremely busy and talking with lots of different people. Mr. Lewis’ favorite part of Oak Hill Middle/High School is the staff students and on Friday buffalo chicken pizza. Mr. Lewis says as a person this job has made him more patient and organized. Mr. Lewis says his favorite co-workers are all of them including TDE, bus drivers, and co-workers. For Mr. Lewis's opinions, he prefers Right Twix over Left, chocolate ice cream over vanilla, diet Mountain Dew over Pepsi and Coke , and his favorite sports teams are The Buckeyes, Browns, and Reds.
