Global Competency 

Over the spring semester, I studied abroad at NYU Abu Dhabi, where I learnt Arabic culture and the history of the UAE through visiting multiple cultural museums and seminars. Additionally, I also completed an undergraduate assistantship in neuroengineering.

I wished to undergo a study abroad experience that would reveal different cultures and opportunities to me. Abu Dhabi not only provided such an opportunity but had most of the required classes making it ideal.

I was able to learn and experience a completely new culture and lifestyle which I had previously been ignorant of as well as gain context on the lives of people living in a very different nation to mine. I was also able to gain professional experience in machines as well as the lab environment. 

Since my goals are to ideally create a business upon any novel creations in the medical field, it would be incredibly useful to understand the culture of people in a potential market and whether the creation would be successful.
