Our project focuses on helping upper-elementary students judge online information more carefully. From our earlier analysis, we found that younger learners may easily believe exciting, emotional, or surprising content online, especially when the source is unclear. Because of this, our design should make credibility checking simple, concrete, and engaging. We want students to practice noticing warning signs, asking basic questions, and deciding whether they should trust, ignore, or verify a post.
Students can make safer decisions about online information.
Students can spot common warning signs, like exaggeration, missing sources, and emotional language.
Students can use a simple checking routine: Who posted it? What is the evidence? What is the motive?
Students can decide whether to trust, ignore, or verify a post, and explain why.
