Initial research discovered that the Reading Specialist only supported up to 1st grade students. Creating a 'bridge' program for older students allowed us to continue to support young learners effectively given time and resource constraints.
Read appropriately-leveled books aloud fluently in group settings.
Complete texts without losing focus and demonstrate comprehension through reflective activities.
Independently choose reading materials, set goals, and reflect on progress.
