Accessing Torch

Torch leverages the newest NYU Microsoft Azure Entra-ID to maximize security. As such, there are some slight differences to logging in compared to Greene and other resources. The example below uses an example NetID, you will need to adapt it to use your own.

Beta Login Instructions

1. Login to Greene:

ssh greene.hpc.nyu.edu

1. From Greene, connect to Torch:

ssh cs649

Your ~/.ssh folder will have been synchronized from Greene to Torch after your Torch access is enabled.

1. Connect to the NYU VPN

2. Configure ~/.ssh/config

3. ssh <NetID>@torch

4. Open https://microsoft.com/devicelogin

5. Copy and enter pin from terminal

6. Enter or select your <NetID>@nyu.edu

7. Enter Password

8. Complete MFA (click on Approve with MFA (Duo)

9. Return to terminal and hit Enter
