Hello everyone, welcome to this week's blog post.
Today, I tell the story of Amy, a Computer Science major at NYU. Amy was a sophomore in the midst of a global pandemic and was having a lot of trouble keeping up with online classes. During class, she found that she dozed off very frequently or oftentimes found herself distracted by one thing or the other.
She had also lost interest in doing her homework. This was not because she was being lazy but because most things on her homework looked like a different language. Python is actually an entirely different language, so no pun intended.
Her math assignments seemed to be suddenly swamped with new Greek letters and symbols representing but not limited to differentiation and integration.
She swept this under the carpet for a while until her mum asked how her classes were going midway through the semester. She confessed that she had been having issues in most of her classes but didn't ask questions in class because she feared to appear dumb. Her mum encouraged her to put such fears aside and assured her that some others in the class would appreciate her questions.
Amy began interacting more with her professors, both during class and office hours. She made contact with other students who were doing well in her classes and had a lot of her questions answered. She was also introduced to a BLW Christian fellowship where she heard words of faith about being able to do all things through Christ who energized and enabled her. She got born again and received the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Amy was set to succeed!
She completed her Math class with an A- and her Python class with an A, courtesy extra credit assignments and the help of the Holy Spirit.
