Building our 'COOL'
After an hour of intense brainstorming and sketch drawing, we finally came into agreement and had a clear image about the work that we want to produce: a interactive fan on the street named 'COOL'. We used the glue gun to stick most parts of the prototype together.
For the outlook, we intentionally painted the artifact in an incredibly colorful way. This is in hopes of bright appearance of the artifact would be noticed by the passer-by more easily so that more are attracted to participate in this offline-connection building experience.
I was mainly in charge of color designing of the interface attached to the machine, alongside with installed software selection. Ariel and Valery was also in charge of aesthetic optimizing the prototype such as adding decorations and gluing up all the components. Enes helped a lot on cardboard shaping and dangerous tool application(such as hot glue gun). Throughout the building process, we were open towards communication and often make subtle adjustments based on the instant feedback given by each other. I would say it was a successful cooperation!
Acting out our 'COOL'
We created a scene on the street where we picture this artifact will be located.
Our script was really simple, since we were very devoted in optimizing the prototype itself. Aside from that, this whole project was completed through countless struggles and compromise of all group members' time schedules, so we are very satisfied and proud of what we presented at last.
We basically decided that me and Ariel acted as a pair of sisters while Enes and Valery acted as a pair of strangers who later became friends because of this machine. Ariel and me was in charge of demonstrating the posing game function. After that, Enes and Valery would follow our action and make attempt to activate the cooling fan by completing the karaoke challenge. After we showed how to operate the two functions, we had a conclusive conversation in order to show that this machine promoted people's offline communications with each other.
