Shapes In Time is the exploration of what happens when you try to make something complex using very simple shapes, colors and mathematical patterns (like rotations). I started out with one square and made it rotate continuously and from there began to play around with it, slowly adding duplicates of the square in decreasing sizes while rotating them at different intervals. I eventually added a circle and a triangle because I was curious as to how it would look. I took inspiration from the geometric properties exhibit at the ArtTechHouse, which brings viewers along a journey through fractal dimensions. This work has 8 pieces. 7 of them explore the different combinations of shapes and their movement over time and are all wrapped into an 8th piece that puts them all together into an experience for the viewer.
