Center CIRCL Faculty Fellows
Center CIRCL Faculty Fellows hold full time positions at New York University Washington Square Campus, and can be pre-tenure or post-tenure, and from the tenure-track and clinical faculty. There will be up to 2-3 Faculty Fellows selected. Faculty Fellows will receive one course release per year of their fellowship, and one month of summer salary per year of their fellowship. (Course releases are in AY26 and 27; summer salary in 2026 and 2027). There are some important stipulations to the course release as detailed here.
Center CIRCL Doctoral Student Fellows
Center CIRCL Doctoral Student Fellows are full time students enrolled in a PhD program at New York University Washington Square Campus, with at least two years remaining in their studies. This is not a dissertation fellowship, but it is possible for Doctoral Fellows to be working on finishing their dissertation while being part of this program. There will be up to 2 Doctoral Fellows selected. Doctoral Fellows will receive $10,000 in a research stipend in AY26, and $5,000 in a research stipend in AY27.
Center CIRCL Undergraduate Student Fellows
Center CIRCL Undergraduate Student Fellows are full time students enrolled in an undergraduate program at New York University Washington Square Campus, with at least two years remaining in their studies. There will be up to 2 Undergraduate Fellows selected. Undergraduate Fellows receive a summer stipend approximating $2,000 in each of the two years, and up to $2,000 in funds to host a program or event on campus in relation to their work as an Undergraduate Fellow.
Center CIRCL Postdoctoral Fellows
Center CIRCL Postdoctoral Fellows are appointed to their position in a separate process, through the Center CIRCL Provost's Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. Applications opened in mid-November and are due Wednesday, December 18, 2024. Please note the earlier deadline for the Postdoctoral Fellowship.
Center CIRCL Community-Based Researcher Fellow
The Center CIRCL Community-Based Researcher is a community-based researcher, scholars, artists, and educators who live in New York City. This fellowship is a role for someone who is otherwise unaffiliated with NYU. Community-based researchers and/or community scientists (with or without higher education credentials); community genealogists, archivists, curators, educators and organizers; artists and arts-based practitioners are eligible to apply. Applicant must be based in New York City or surrounding areas. This role is for someone who is not a full-time student in high school or university. There will be one selected. The Community Researcher will receive a $20,000 stipend in year one, and $10,000 stipend in year two.
