During my undergraduate degree, I studied English Literature and Drama. I enhanced my performing experience by transferring to the University of Oklahoma to study Acting for one semester, after my first academic year in the UK.
In 2019 I completed a master's in Educational Theatre that incorporated mandatory performance and directing courses such as the Teaching of Acting, Dramaturgy, The Teaching of Voice, Acting Styles and, Directing, as well as residencies at the Lincoln Center Theatre in New York, the Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago, and The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London.
While completing my teacher training degree as a specialist drama teacher, I was fortunate to be able to create/perform in the official educational videos and online study resources for the UK exam board for GCSE Drama. These highlighted the eight explorative strategies which included Role Play, Still Image, Hot-Seating, Thought-tracking, etc.
As a qualified Drama teacher for the past 14 years, I have been able to teach a range of performance skills to middle and high school students in addition to dramaturgy, script, and devised work.
The program of study below indicates the units that I teach in my current place of employment for the past ten years.
