In the summer of 2020, I was fortunate to be able to take Introduction to Arts-Based research with Nisha Sajnani. As this was one of the first coursework classes I enrolled in, upon being accepted into the EdD program, I was able to explore several ideas before finalizing my culminating project. This course played an integral part in my understanding of ABR and in understanding the various methods that could be used to collect qualitative research. Being able to go through the process of a literature review and exploring methods helped me to better understand how to eventually write my topic review and dissertation proposal.
The final paper for this class can be found below.
During the fall of 2020, I took Methods and Materials of Research in Educational Theatre with Amy Cordileone. This was a perfect opportunity for me to continue to explore what my potential research would question, to conduct some research in my teaching classroom as part of an assignment, and to continue to practice articulating myself through the written word.
The final assignment was to conduct a mini qualitative research project that mirrored that of an official dissertation. My final logbook for this project is below.
For Spring 2021 I completed the Doctoral Seminar with Nancy Smithner. It was here that I was able to finalize my final project idea.
The outline of my dissertation proposal for this class can be found below.
