Knowledge & Application to Culminating Project

The Culminating Project Proposal -

My culminating project intends to explore the experience of Third Culture Kids (TCK's) in Taiwan. I would like to share the data through a series of Verbatim portraits that will be performed by actors who themselves are TCK's.

A brief outline of my proposed project is below:

Knowledge -

During the Fall of 2020, I took The Ethnoactor and Verbatim Performance class with Joe Salvatore. It was here that I learned to score transcripts, interview, and collect data for verbatim portraits in addition to analyzing vocal and gestural patterns.

Joe Salvatore has also offered to conduct an independent study with me in the Spring of 2022.

I recognize that I would benefit from more experience with Verbatim Theatre and I will therefore hope to attend another class conducted by Joe Salvatore when I am able to physically be at NYU this forthcoming summer (2022), or the next summer depending on the current pandemic situation.
