Action Step One

District Goal 2: Northwestern Local Schools appreciates that every child is unique with individualized needs and will provide educational opportunities, services and supports to meet the needs of our diverse learners.

Action Step 1: (Professional Development) Plan, organize, and implement ongoing needs-based employee development. (Including but not limited to… co-teaching, poverty training, trauma informed care, instructional training for all levels of learners, soft skills development, R-Factor Training, confidence and self-esteem building skills training, etc.)

Grade Level/Subject Area: Jr/Sr High School

Indicators:

  • Attend R-Factor training.

  • Read and discuss books such as Above the Line by Urban Meyer and Engaging Students with Poverty in Mind by Eric Jensen.

  • Attend PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions) training.


Key People and Responsibilities: All faculty, staff, and administration

Timelines: Long Range: Year One

Progress Monitoring: Building administrators will periodically meet with key personnel. At the end of each school year, school administrators with guidance counselors and teachers will assess the progress of the action step and revise accordingly.
