Weight & Diet

  • The coaches will never tell an athlete to cut weight. We will ask them to maintain their weight and we will go off of the NIAA Weight Certification plan.

  • NIAA Weight Certification - We strictly follow the rules and regulations on our team. At the beginning of the season, we have the wrestlers weigh in with an NIAA official. We also test their hydration. A few weeks after we recieve a paper stating what is the lowest weight they are allowed to be each week. If they are below that weight, they will not wrestle; Even if they are on weight for that Weight Class it is still unhealthy and will not be allowed. There are no penalties for being above to the Weight Certification plan each week.

  • If a wrestler is absent day of weight certification, they will have to pay and travel to another school to be certified. They are not allowed to compete if this is not done.

  • Weight Certification will be held before thanksgiving.

  • We Recommend - Hydration, Never starve yourself, start early, eat small.

  • Wrestlers are NOT allowed to cut weight wearing a sweatshirt/hoodie, wear a trash bag, sauna suits, or any plastic. This is unhealthy.

  • Wrestlers are not allowed to cut more than 1 lb day of weigh ins.

  • If a wrestler misses weight, they will not wrestle that tournament or dual. No exceptions.

  • Below are the forms that will brought with the wrestlers to the Weight Certification. Must be signed or they will not be able to weigh in.
