Sportsmanship - Parents are held to the same standard as our wrestlers. Never address the official nor speak over a coach
There is absolutely no Coaching over/louder than the coach at the mat.
If parents are able to volunteer and help out please let a coach know. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
Support your wrestler. There is no need to talk down on an athlete; even us coaches do not do that. We will handle the coaching aspect.
Wrestler Expectations
Wrestling or playing any sport is a privilege. Treat it as such.
Grades - be "A Cut Above" the average student. Commit yourself to excellence on and off the mat. If a student has 2 F's or a GPA below 2.0, they will not wrestle for 3 weeks.
Practice - Master and perfect technique
Attendance is mandatory for competition.
Competitions - Stay with the team until the event is over. Leaving early from a dual is not permissible. Never address the official.
Hygiene - Clean clothes everyday, shower immediately after practice. Hair, Nails and Skin should be kept clean and trimmed if need be.
During home events, each wrestler is expected to set up and tear down.
Travel Team
Through the season, we have a few opportunities to travel with the wrestling team and experience a higher level of wrestling. By traveling and being introduced to a different side of wrestling, you get to expand your technique level. We attend tournaments where bigger names of schools are present; The best of the best go. In order to be considered for the travel team, there are a few requirements:
Boys:
Must be in attendance of Pre-Season Practices (Minimum two per week)
Must have a C or higher in all classes
Must make starting varsity
Girls:
Must be in attendance of Pre-Season Practices (Minimum two per week)
Must have a C or higher in all classes
