Background Info
Washoe is a county in the northern part of Nevada, named after the Washoe people and tribes that lived in the area. The Great Basin tribe that inhabited the area were known for their unique traditions, like fishing and basket weaving. The county was established in 1861 and since then has grown be a prosperous region in the state. Its rich history and geography continues to attract visitors to absorb its beautiful mountains and lakes.
