Dragon Choir

Dragon Choir: This is Del Sol Academy's Tenor-Bass vocal ensemble for magnet and zoned students. The ensemble performs a variety of music composed for lower voices and combines with Coro Sinfónico at concerts to perform music for mixed voice symphonic choirs. Because this is a leading ensemble at Del Sol Academy, another very critical part of the placement process for this ensemble is professional attitude. Things such as tardies, classroom attitude, grades, and discipline will weigh strongly on the decision in the selection of this ensemble. Major topics include advanced vocal performance skills, live performance opportunities, and the study of advanced vocal literature including a range of historical periods and cultures. Instructional practices incorporate integration of diversity awareness including appreciation of all cultures and their important contributions to society.
