Mr. Tesini & Ms. Miller share a grade book which is broken down as follows:
25% Attendance/Participation: Your consistent effort & active participation in activities and discussion during class time is observed & evaluated on a daily basis. Effort & problem-solving are two main areas of concentration. The Daily Question is included in your participation grade.
25% Classwork: You will complete a series of classwork activities which align with long term projects. These may include notes, reflections, pre-assessments, and quizzes.
50% Projects: Throughout this course, you will complete various projects specific to the topics covered in class as listed below. Each grade level completes at least two long term projects, which contribute to the majority of your grade.
My Grading Philosophy:
My grading philosophy is that making mistakes is an essential part of the learning process and your goal is to problem solve your way through them both independently and collaboratively with a team. Perfection does come with the first try! Just like riding a bike, it takes practice and skill, but eventually you'll get it.
This class moves very quickly and we will cover a lot in only 30 days. You may not love every topic that we learn about, but you are expected to try your best and have a good attitude. Due dates are important and work is expected to be turned in in a timely fashion. I do accept late work, but it needs to be completed on your own time. If you finish something early, that's a great time to catch up on missing work!
All digital work is submitted through Google Classroom and it's important to make sure all attachments are properly uploaded and marked as Turned In when finished. Fixing and resubmitting your work for a higher grade is highly encouraged, be sure to use the feedback in the Google Classroom comments to reinforce understanding of concepts.
