Robotics

In 6th grade, students learn the basics of coding and programming language using the LEGO EV3 robots and LEGO Mindstorms software to write a program for your robots to achieve a variety of challenges.
Throughout this unit, students will develop and refine their problem solving skills while working collaboratively with a partnerAdditionally, students will also gain technical vocabulary, an understanding of the engineering design process, and applied math through a hands-on learning experience.

Bridges

Students develop an understanding of basic construction techniques by building a truss-designed, beam bridge using toothpicks and glue. By the end of this unit students will have gained knowledge and skills in construction, engineering and design, and transportation through hands-on experience designing, building, and testing beam bridges using a limited amount of materials.
