#2 Project Ideas

One project idea is I could learn how to crochet. I would use my time to watch videos and practice crocheting techniques. Knowing how to crochet could possibly have a personal impact and make me a better person - especially if I connect it to my impact on others. I could crochet things for other people or teach others how to crochet after I have learned. It is clear how learning how to crochet would impact my technical skill set as well, it is a skill that could follow me for the rest of my life. At the end of the project I could have a final goal, like to crochet a sweater, or I could make a digital collection of how my skills improve over time.

Another project idea is a research project on how to develop an eco-friendly home. I could research best strategies for building a greenhouse and positives and negatives surrounding green-energy such as solar or geo-thermal. This would impact me personally as I could use this knowledge if I ever build my own eco-friendly home in the future. I could impact my technical skill set by creating a website that displays everything I have learned. Besides the website I am currently writing on, I have never made one before so there would be lots of new skills for me to learn. My website could help others who want to build their own eco-friendly home.

My last project idea is to create a video or slideshow on the impact of going vegetarian on one's body and their social life. I would research the physical changes that occur when someone cuts meat out of their diet and I would elaborate on social issues surrounding a lack of vegetarian options in many places. I could also discuss the environmental impact of switching to a vegetarian diet. This would impact me personally as I have been vegetarian for a few years and I have seen the impacts in my own life. I would also improve my technical skill set. I have created videos and slideshows before, but this would allow me to grow my skills at creating true high quality displays of information. I could also share my end result to teach others about the impact of a vegetarian diet.
