Junior/Senior Internship Program

This program is designed to link students at least 16 years of age or older with business and professional partners. Students selected for this program will intern at businesses in the greater Hartford area. Credit will be awarded according to the total number of hours performed by the students as follows:

  • 30 hours for ¼ credits

  • 60 hours for ½ credits

  • 90 hours for ¾ credits

  • 120 hours for 1 credit

**Note: All Academy students are required to complete AT LEAST 60 hours **

This is an excellent opportunity for students to gain exposure to work situations that match their future career goals. Each intern will be required to attend work‑related seminars and participate in a selection process, including evaluation by school staff and potential employers. Transportation must be provided by the student/parent and, if applicable (depending on a student’s schedule), any students participating in early dismissal must maintain that eligibility during the internship. Interested students must consult with the Workforce Development Specialist or Career Academy Counselor. An internship may count as the mandatory sixth credit, provided the student has met all of his/her graduation requirements. Grades for this program are not used in computing GPA.
